Reverse Sun Damage, Fine Lines and Adult Blemish

As a Hairdresser, I'm always looking for products that enhance the look of modern men and women, I try the products that promise to help me improve my appearance and boost my self esteem

I'm a hairdresser that always wear high heels and like to dress-up in white, black, or sometimes a combination of both. I love to feel avant garde and well dressed, but if my figure, health, hair and skin are not matching what I'm perpetuating, Then I am just wasting my money on clothes and shoes.

For me, what is very important is when after a week of being using REVERSE from Rodan & Fields, I walk into the Salon where I sub-lease and the manager of the salon asks me, "What have done to your skin, it is glowing?!!!". At that moment, I know that this is my skin product...I'm not even using a base to try to even up the color of my skin, I go work "bare skin" everyday.

My clients tell me that I look younger with a great figure, healthy, and with beautiful hair. They want to know what I use and what I'm doing to look the way I do in my mid forties and with a full hysterectomy operation for 6 years now... they think that my skin should look dry and dull, and should have been gaining way in my waist area and losing some body muscle. I'm not a "body builder"...but I'm pretty tone, at least for my age.

I think that what I do different is to take care of myself from the inside out and from the outside in... How do I take care of my inside? Well, I daily take two ounces in the morning of AIO....a Liquid Nutraceutical Dietary Supplement, before taking anything else

And the workout program that I use is the P90x, you can read about the product or may be aware of the infomercials.

I also drink one gallon of water a day (no sodas), alcohol once in a while.

I have tried the products and because they work for me, I decided to promote something that has been recommended to me now for quite a while.

Protect your hair during the Summer season

Drink from 6 to 8 eight oz. glass of water at day.

Before diving into a pool, rinse your hair with clean water in order to minimize the effects of chlorine.

Clarify & condition your hair right after swimming.

Use protein hair treatments at least once at month during summer or you can deep condition your hair every other day using a source of heat while conditioning your hair (the steam of the shower is great).

Protect your hair from the solar rays. Use an alcohol free, leave-in conditioner with UVA protection and if you go to the beach, braid your hair if you can to protected from the sand and avoid hair dehydration, tangle hair and split ends.

Trim your hair every 6 to 8 weeks to prevent dry, dull, unhealthy looking hair.

If you are blond and notice that your hair is looking gold or brassy due to the solar rays, chlorine in pools or minerals in your tap water, use a purple or blue shampoo.

If your hair turns green as a result of chlorine, tomato juice would remove the greenish tint from your hair. Do not panic, this happens quite often.

If your hair has a silky texture, fix it into a ponytail, cover it with a bandanna or baseball cap before exposing your hair to strong wind in order to avoid hair break.

If you hair is curly you need to use protein treatments at least twice a month, make sure to twist your locks while treating or conditioning your hair in order to facilitate deep penetration of the conditioner.

Hair Tips

I have decided to start a blog because of the number of calls I receive on my phone by clients on advice after they have colored their hair at home. It is impossible for me to answer all of them and sometimes people think that I'm rude.

A common question I get is: How after dying my hair black, do I go back to my natural dirty blond color without paying a fortune or spending more than 4 hours at the Hair Salon?

Another very common question I get is: Can I just go to the grocery store and pick-up a box of blond hair color and go back to my natural color?

Well let me tell you that it is nearly an impossible task to accomplish. Reason being, is that black is the hardest hair dye to remove and no one can remove black color in one day, much less a single application. We have to remove black permanent dye in a series of stages.
Here is how it works

First color remover application: We go from black to red

Second application: We go from red to red/orange

Third application: red/orange to orange

Fourth application: Orange to orange/gold

Fifth application: orange/gold to gold

Sixth application: gold to yellow/gold

Seventh application: yellow/gold to yellow

Eighth application: yellow to pale yellow

After all these steps are complete, the stylist has to apply what we call toner to close down the cuticle of the hair and achieve the desired tone and level.

With this process, it is normal that you hair will feel a little dry or very dry depending on the condition of your hair before starting the process and the products that you use and/or you have a keratin treatment between every other process.

A very important point that I want to make here is that if you are thinking of doing a color correction, please have a consultation with your colorist before the day of service. Talk to
your colorist about the whole process and make sure that they are experienced in providing this service. Visiting an upscale salon is no guarantee that the service provider is experienced with this type of procedure. More importantly YOU HAVE TO BE COMMITTED to the whole process otherwise don't waste you and your colorist's time and MONEY.

In most cases, I recommend that you start with hi-lites instead of color correction, the reasons being:

#1. It is cheaper.

#2. It is easier on the hair.

#3. It is going to look better than the first color correction application.

4:You will be more committed with the process.

5:Everybody happy.

I have seen people starting their color correction and after the first visit, run to the drug store and get hair color in the box (that is what I call hair horror in the box) trying to expedite the process. Apply it....and WOW!!!! BIG MISTAKE.

I'm hoping that this answer will help every one out there who has the same question.

Hair is the most important thing to me, so if you have any hair or skin related questions feel free to e-mail me at cristinacrawford66@gmail.com, it will be my pleasure to answer any of your questions.

PS: No more phone calls with questions please, is hard for me to answer my cell when working on my clients.

Have a nice hair.
